Brooklyn is about Eilis Lacey (Saoirse Ronan), a young Irish girl immigrating to America for a future, and one must say the making captures the innocence of the lead character so well in this pretty looking picture with legitimate settings!
The actress gives a superior performance in playing the person struck by homesickness who is getting accustomed to the new Land of Opportunity's environment & enduring a tough state being thousands of miles across the sea from home.
The score is tranquilizing & the song Frankie (Iarla Ó Lionáird) sings, tugs in your heart strings! One of the most beautiful replies to a love proposal is in this film too! Just when one thinks that the protagonist's motivation is to disappointingly change, the boat turns away from straying & begins sailing in the right direction.
Aside from some of the generic minor characters, this motion picture is a breeze to catch & fall in love with!
"All I can say is that it will pass. Homesickness is like most sickness. It will make you feel wretched, and then it will move on to somebody else."
