GOOD

It starts off a little disorganized because the script's trying to interject as many expositions as it could, so that the story that unfolds later on in the film would be easier for us to follow. There's Bucky Barnes, there's Helmut Zemo, there's Crossbones, there's biological weaponry, there're Winter Soldiers, there's a divide within the Avengers & there's the Sokovia Accords. Where's the focus? What's the key point here? Disorder's brought literal too, through shaky camera handling for the inciting action sequences.

But, once the screenplay takes its own sweet time to finish sorting & yoking itself, you're about to enjoy the movie so hard! Watch out for the moneyshot segment where all our favorite superheroes begin rubbing shoulders with each other at the Leipzig/Halle airport! You have Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) subverting Iron Man's armor, Spidey swinging around whacking Falcon & Giant-Man's first live action appearance!

If these aren't enough, there are great recruitment scenes of Ant-Man & not to forget the best, Peter Parker (Tom Holland)! The latter's confrontation with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is gold! Another surprise package is Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), a highly likable vigilante with an impregnable purpose of existence! Motivations for most of the characters are written orthodoxly, but Hawkeye's (Jeremy Renner) temerarious entry, King T'Chaka of Wakanda's hasty death & the sudden nonattendance of Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) towards the Third Act could have been treated better.

What would this motion picture do without the amazing practical & visual effects? Hologram speech cues & memory projection, Iron Man's back jet & palm suit, Spider-Man's outfit & the end-credits digital readout on web shooters are marvelous! Captain America holding off the helicopter with his arms & first chase at the tunneled highway with Black Panther grabbing the motorcycle are notable stunts that seem impromptu. Judianna Makovsky's costume designs for Black Panther, Vision & Crossbones are stunning! The tricks Falcon pulls off with his wings & bird drone are wicked!

Martin Freeman's brief visits as Everett Ross leave a smile. Brock Rumlow (Frank Grillo) turning into Crossbones is agreeable, as he's an impressive character from the previous sequel. One does feel that his part ends very quickly though. Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson is funny. Helmut Zemo's (Daniel Brühl) intentions are clear, but muddled throughout the entire film as it aren't explained firsthand. Isn't Marisa Tomei too young onscreen to be an aunt for a high school teenager?

Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) having assassinated Howard Stark & wife in the past is a matchless twist! It adds so much of anger & emotional heft to the relationship between Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) & Tony Stark, and oh boy, was it a beautiful scene to catch the trio butchering each other! A snapshot not to miss is the shield versus beam slow-mo pause!

Through T'Challa, we understand & see what happens when vengeance consumes. Therein comes a terrific closure to the Captain America trilogy, launching the 3rd Phase of Marvel Cinematic Universe with pride!
