Michael Fassbender is the fuzzy, pushy, choosy, bossy, precise, condescending, metronomic and expert designer Steve Jobs who wants to make a dent in the universe with a garden full of pure ideology! And the thespian makes the planet shift on its axis nigh and forever with his depiction of the real life icon!
To say Aaron Sorkin's screenplay is compelling is an understatement! His writing beams thunderously with edgy dialogues, pressing for every little attention of yours. Most of the time, one has to look and listen hard for each conversation matters. It's too easy to get lost in the stampede and miss the fast train. After the first 15 minutes of clenching scenes, the plot does not really go anywhere impactful unfortunately. This two facts definitely cause the final product some injury.
But, Danny Boyle absolves with ungodly artfulness and nuances in his direction! The chemistry between Jobs and his daughter Lisa is dramatically undefeatable! Kate Winslet is apt as Marketing Executive Joanna Hoffman and Seth Rogen imprints strongly as the Co-Founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak.
Steve Wozniak: "What did you do? What did you do? You can't write code. You're not an engineer. You're not a designer. You can't put a hammer to a nail. I built the circuit board. The graphical interface was stolen from Xerox PARC. Jef Raskin was the leader of the Mac team before you threw him off his own project. Everything... Someone else designed the box. So how come 10 times in a day, I read 'Steve Jobs is a genius'? What do you do?"
Steve Jobs: "The musicians play their instruments. I play the orchestra."
