Mind you, this is not your average Disney brand cartoon. What you're about to watch, the deeper it goes, the darker it gets.
On the surface, one might think the plot is about a couple of cop buddies hunting down baddies. What it really portrays is the contemporary American society, with racism, drug usage, social hierarchy, executive clubs, government servants and racial stereotypes among many other commentaries alike sneaked in brilliantly in the form of animated analogies!
A film wins automatically when it has illustrious characters! Officer Judy Hopps, the determined rabbit from Bunnyburrow (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nicholas P. "Nick" Wilde, the sly red fox who happens to be a con-artist (voiced by Jason Bateman) are absolutely lovable! The rapport between these two is spectacular as the voice actors were dedicated to bring these computer beings to life! Mr. Big's (voiced by Maurice LaMarche) Godfather impersonation is a scream and Chief Bogo (voiced by Idris Elba) is superb as well, not to forget the scene-stealing Sloths at the DMV too!
With an expeditious and chirpy screenplay that fits every little thing into a beguiling whole story, Zootopia is a cinematic feat that hits you on all the correct levels!
